Lino printing is a form of printmaking, where the printing plate is cut into lino. Yes, lino as in linoleum, as in the floor covering. The lino is then inked, a piece of paper placed over it, and pressure applied by hand to transfer the ink to the paper. The result, a linocut print. Because it’s a smooth surface, the lino itself doesn’t add texture to the print.
This 6 week course is for those who are looking to try something new, or perhaps can remember having a go at this when they were in school!
What do I need to bring?
Just yourself and an open mind, all tools and equipment will be provided for you.
We will take a short break mid-afternoon for tea or coffee. If you would prefer just to carry on working, you are most welcome!
What are the times?
The course will start at 2:00pm and run until approximately 4:00pm. There is always the possibility that it may overrun, but we won’t be kicking anyone out if you need to finish a part of your piece!
This course is on the ground floor of our premises with access through the front of the shop.
If you change your mind about the course or are unable to attend, please notify us a minimum of two weeks prior to the course starting so that the place can be offered to another artist.
Courses will be cancelled if less than 3 people join the course as it will not be possible to run. We aim to contact participants one week before the course takes place, should this occur and offer a full refund or chance to move to another course, if preferred.
